handy cross masterplan

Handy Cross Hub (HxH) is located strategically on the approach to London from the Midlands at the heart of The Thames Valley Region. Circa £150m HxH is comfortably the largest project undertaken by Wycombe District Council. The hub site creates a gateway to High Wycombe from the south as it is located adjacent to junction 4 of the M40. In 2008 the site and grounds of the former Wycombe Sports Centre complex were identified as an opportunity to create a new mixed-use development which would include: a new sports and leisure centre; integrated transport hub; 340,000ft2  of offices; a business hotel; and a community building in the form of a children’s centre. RMA were initially appointed as masterplan architect but subsequently contributed to many other aspects of the project including design architect for the offices and hotel, and the role of delivery architect for the transport interchange and Children’s Centre.
