Mixed use masterplan
Under construction

Handy Cross Hub is located strategically on the approach to London from the Midlands at the heart of The Thames Valley Region. The Hub site creates a gateway to High Wycombe from the south as it is located adjacent to junction 4 of the M40. In 2008 the site and grounds of the former Wycombe Sports Centre complex were identified as an opportunity to create a new mixed-use development which would include: a new sports and leisure centre; integrated transport hub; 340,000ft2 of offices; a business hotel; and a community building. RMA were initially appointed as masterplan architect but have subsequently contributed to many other aspects as the project including the role of delivery architect for the transport interchange and community building.
RMA were fully involved in design, consultation and presentation activities to obtain Outline Planning consent which was granted at the end of 2012. This process also included a number of successful ancillary designs and planning applications undertaken by RMA to relocate existing outdoor facilities to new venues. The first phases of the project including the sports & leisure centre and transport hub started on site in early 2014 and were completed in January 2016.
RMA were appointed to develop the designs for Phases 3 & 4 which received full planning consent in July 2018.
